The Feeling

Lagos was the first place I ever set foot on the continent. It was 2012, and I was on my way to meet my grandmother for the first time.

I didn't know what to expect. What I found was heat that wrapped around me the second I landed, color everywhere, strangers who talked to me like family before they knew my name.

It's ripe, generous, close to the surface. Nothing held back.

Love in Lagos holds that feeling: fruity floral and warm, juicy,  a humid, sticky sweet Lagos evening, the ease of finally being somewhere you belong.
